William “Ian” Whipple, AIFD, CFD
has been active in the Retail Floral Industry since 1985 and as a shop owner and creative director of Floral Art since 1987. He also has actively owned and built a wholesale floral company, an interior plantscape company, and a small industry publication. Ian has specialized in the creative design and execution of large scale corporate and destination special events since 2004.

Ian has specialized in the creative design and execution of large scale corporate and destination special events since 2004.
Ian completed an Associate degree in Floral Design Management from Ricks College/BYU-Idaho. He was inducted as an accredited member for AIFD - American Institute of Floral Designers - in 2004 at the National Symposium in NYC. The love of learning from others has taken Ian to study in countries including Belgium, France, Scotland, Germany, Mexico, Chile, Canada, Russia, Romania and most recently Italy and Spain.
Since 2004, Floral Art has been the contract florist for Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole. Ian has worked alongside colleagues as installation creators and designers at “Fleuramour” in Alden Biesen Castle near Bilzen Belgium on two separate occasions. 2015 brought the opportunity to design, engineer and create a 5000-sq. foot ceiling of flowers. In 2016, at the Gateway to the Americas Cup held in Vancouver, BC., Ian was awarded first place in the competition category “This is My Country”. Ian has served on the AIFD NW board and is a past President of the AIFD NW region. He has also served on the National Marketing committee.
Ian is always seeking learning opportunities and is currently working on Part ll of the EMC - European Masters Certification - in Floristry as part of the Rome Italy Group. He continues to own and operate Floral Art in Jackson, WY.
